I guess it is time to update this site. I have too many web sites and blog sites. I like Xanga but I have so many other sites.

I still think...that maybe the only thing I should post here is stories of my life. When I got all done posting stories of my life..you would have the history of my life in written word.

I just need to get started...I need the time and I need to make some effort.

My son (Ken) and I are living in the Miami Florida area. We live in the Kendall (Dadeland) area. The apartments, that we live, are going condo. We will have to move in February of 2005.
I want to move to Fort Lauderdale. It will depend on where my son and grandson are going to school. My son Ken (30 years of age) is going to school to be an FAA ATC. My grandson Russell (16) is going to get his GED and start college.

I am going to try and start to use the Xanga site again.

It is been a long time since my last entry here. I started using TypePad and then I found PHP-Nuke and on and on it goes. But Xanga is an excellent way to do a blog. I would like to find a place for it to fit into everything that I am doing.

First an update on what has been going on with me and the family. The last time I made an entry we had just moved into a new house in Texas. Well it is a long long story (you can read it all at ShowMeBlog) but I am now living in Miami FL.

I am still thinking that maybe what I should do with this site (Xanga) is make it a place for old photos and old stories. Each entry would be an old photo and then the story that goes with it.

The movie Road House is on right now. I am watching it again. I like that movie. I guess I want to be a Danton (Patrick Swayze). Hay..I did get to use the line "My Way or the Highway" one time. Most of the time it seems I was saying "Waiting Room or Jail" when I worked at Research Belton Hospital. (A nurse also put that on a shirt for me. Smile) I remember one time.. A guy was giving the ER clerk crap and would not answer her questions. I went over and had a word with him and he gave me some lip. Before I even knew what I was saying I told him "My Way or the Highway." I had never said that before..just came out. I don't remember if I had just seen the movie or what.. It did fit.. the hospital was right next to 71 highway.

If I remember correct the film was even made in Missouri.

I want to get stories posted here before I forget them... I just saw something about Tourette Syndrome on a web site. I will add to this story..but I want to post something before I forget it.

I used to work security for a hospital and across the street was a place that took care of a lot of different sort of people. There was a tunnel under the street that went over there. They had their own security but we had a deal that we would respond if they needed help. I was over there eating one time and there was an old man and his wife eating in the lunch room. He would yell out from time to time..things like "FUCK" and stuff like that..He had Tourette Syndrome. That maybe the first time I saw a real person, that I knew of, that had that problem.

Many years later I was working at Research Belton Hospital and one night about 3 am a guy came into the ER for treatment of something. He was on cart #1 and he was the only patient and I was standing by..He was a bit odd. Well he kept giving me the "finger." In this country holding up a certain finger means "fuck you"..it may mean something else someplace else..I am not sure..
But he just kept doing it..I had not said anything to him.. I was just standing by at the ER desk. He kept doing it and I was thinking..what is your fucking problem...Well..I can not remember..but he had something very minor or nothing..I don't think I even knew what his problem was...I went to the phone and called the police and told them..that they might want to keep an eye on this guy when he left.. I gave information about the car he was going to be leaving in..Well the ER dismissed him and I was on the same frequency as the police department and I heard an officer watching him and then I heard them checking him and then I heard they were arresting him and taking him to jail.

Later I went over to the ER area and they happen to mention ..the guy and how odd he was.. and I asked what was his problem and the doctor said he had Tourette Syndrome. I said.. "shit" I wish I had know what his problem was.. they said..why..I said..I called the police on the guy and they arrested him. I am not sure..just why they arrested him..I do know..the reason they checked him..Was that he stopped at a stop sign and just sat there and after a few minutes of not moving the officer checked him. I always wondered did he give that officer the finger.

I am going to make this my life story area.. I need to create a mast head for this site..

I feel I have had a very dull life. I do not feel like I have done very much with my life.

But often when I start to tell about my life..people don't believe it or they say you should write a book.
However..like all old men..I also see people change the subject or start to head for an exit when I start one of my stories.
Maybe if I post them here..maybe then ... people could say.. "OH yes.. I read all about that at your web site" and keep from hearing the story all over again.. I wonder how many times I tell the same story...

I worked at a small hospital for many years, I was a security officer, and I would tell the staff about my life..They would not believe me... I always told the 100% of the truth and they would laugh and say "sure sure" or something to that effect.
It saw a movie one time about a guy that lied. He would tell stories and they were big lies. When they would question him ...he would say..."Why would I lie about a thing like that?"
I do not remember the name of that movie..But I started to use that line at work. So I would tell a 100% true story, maybe about going to a nudist camp or my dating, and the staff would not believe me and I would then say "Why would I lie about a thing like that?" and they would laugh.
One Christmas a nurse even made a shirt for me that said on it "Why would I lie about a thing like that?"

I am going to post stories here that are 100% true. I may post them here again from time to time.. When I find a photo that goes with the story or if I remember additional information or one of you jogs my memory or something I will post the up dated story.

I am not sure...where I will begin.. I guess...When I feel in the mood to tell a story..I will try and remember to do it here... nudist camp...Okefenokee Swamp..my first kiss..fighting to clean up a union..visiting the South before civil rights..riding in the back of the bus..predicting deaths..fights...car chases..

We have moved into the new house at Hillsboro, Texas USA. If you visit my web site: Howard's Notebook you can see photos of the new house.

We got a new car, well a 1992, and that will help.

I am trying to decided just what to do with this Xanga site. I don't think it will make a good ham radio blog. I don't think it would make a good site for a Hillsboro site. So right now ..not sure..just how I will use this site. I will get it to fit in ..someplace.

I have not been posting here. I signed up as a beta tester for TypePad and after the beta testing I signed up.

I now have my ShowMeBlog on TypePad.

I think every Howard's Notebook is has changed a great deal.

Since I am here and posting this now.. Let me say a few things..

We are waiting for approval of a home loan. If it is approved we will be moving to Hillsboro, Texas USA.
The city of Hillsboro, in Hill County, Texas is located 35 miles North of Waco, 65 miles South of Dallas and 55 miles South of Forth Worth. The population of Hillsboro is 8,232 and 32,321 for for Hill County.
I hope the loan is approved because we already signed up for DSL service thru EarthLink.
